Fleetwood Mac Lyrics to Ease Your Spring Semester Angst

On the evening of April 2, I desperately searched my closet as I prepared for the event that seemed like the culmination of years of teenage angst: a Fleetwood Mac concert. Finally, I was going to see my Bohemian and breezy idol, Ms. Stevie Nicks herself, in person. However, tragedy struck, and the concert was postponed. Apparently a band member got sick. I threw off my gauzy scarves, oversized hat, lace tunics, and Wiccan accessories in a heartbroken huff. If you are facing similar adversity during the spring semester crunch, allow Fleetwood Mac to guide you through. I therefore present lyrics to apply to your Brunonian struggles.Searching for the inspiration to go out and just aren’t feeling it? Tune in to “Rhiannon,” a song about a mystical and enigmatic seductress. It may inspire you to strut out into the night like the temptress you are!  After all, Rhiannon “is like a cat in the dark, and then she is the darkness/ She rules her life like a fine skylark/ And when the sky is starless.” I can't exactly say what being a “cat in the dark” entails, but the idea may be just enough to rouse you from your Andrews poke coma and into the evening with true excitement!Next, the ultimate sad girl anthem: “Landslide.” A single chord of this song brings tears to my eyes. If you feel overwhelmed with the nonstop grind to the finish, I suggest this beautiful tune to help push out a few resetting sobs. Just consider how “time makes you bolder/ even children get older/ and I’m getting older, too.” That always gets me.If you’re particularly angsty and one sad tune won't cut it, turn on “Storms” while strutting down Thayer melodramatically. If you want passerby's to wonder what exactly your deal is, play “Storms” and adopt a pouty yet pondering facial expression-- it’s totally worked for me so far.And if you need a new Nelson anthem to bop to on the treadmill, tune in to “The Chain.” I find it invigorating. As Stevie croons, “Listen to the wind bloooow,” you just might have to turn up the speed and feel like a real warrior. And, of course, there’s "Gypsy," my ultimate fave. Listen to this as you dream of warmer days when the sun shines and you aren't in the sadness of the Rock (shudder).May Stevie Nicks be with you!Image via.
