Introducing this spring's blog babies!

They're finally here! This spring, we're welcoming three new blog babies who dazzled us with their style, wit, and ability to choose the right school the second time around (yes, they're all transfers). Keep reading to find out who they are and what their deal is!(Missed the boat? Keep an eye out for next year’s application or email us at info@blognonian.com) janey Janey Litvin '21Janey is a sophomore transfer from Hastings on Hudson, NY (otherwise known as Westchester). She went to Tufts last year, and as for her reason for transferring, she says, "Let's not go there." Janey is notable for her intriguingly long tongue and her love of corduroy pants, which she says make her feel like a “superstar mom.” If Jane could attend any musical event it would be a Kanye West concert. She wishes to specify, however, that it would have to be a Kanye concert in 2008 (any other option would be unacceptable). The best piece of advice she's received was from her brother, who once sagely commended her, "Do it later." If she ever were to get a tattoo, it would be one commemorating the Eagles' Super Bowl victory over the Patriots (a rare occurrence), and if she could live anywhere in the world, she would choose Dublin. Finally, if she were a character in Shrek, she'd be Donkey's dragon wife (who is often referred to simply as "Dragon," but whose real name, we learned after further research, is actually Fergie).Written by Hanna Rashidi and Clare Lonergan hanna Hanna Rashidi '21Hanna is a sophomore transfer from San Francisco who plans to concentrate in Literary Arts. After attending UCLA last year, she’s excited about the prospect of taking more art classes here on College Hill. Hanna is definitely not apologetic for the lack of an h at the end of her name, and she says her spirit animal is either David Bowie or Freddie Mercury (though she still hasn’t seen Bohemian Rhapsody!). She’s also noteworthy for her ability to speak Elvish (the language in The Lord of the Rings, for any uncultured readers), and her favorite article of clothing is her maroon velvet blazer. Hanna is not fan of Shrek, but if she had to pick a character, she (begrudgingly) said she'd be Puss in Boots.Written by Clare Lonergan and Janey Litvin clare Clare Lonergan '21Clare is a sophomore from Cambridge, Massachusetts, who's planning on concentrating in something related to America (Public Policy? Political Science? American Studies? Who knows?). While living in Cambridge, Clare developed a rather intense one-sided relationship with Harvard University (“I would go but they never wanted to have me,” she replied tearfully when asked about it). With Harvard off the table, she decided to attend Colby College for her freshman year, but, sadly, this relationship was also doomed to fail, as Colby is deep in the woods of Maine and Clare refuses to hike for fun. Clare has many special skills, but the one she treasures most is her ability to play hot cross buns on the recorder (she learned this in elementary school, making her somewhat of a prodigy). We've decided that she should probably be into astrology, as it would go well with her aesthetic of cheetah print and chunky Fila sneakers. After watching Shrek every Friday night with her babysitter for several years, Clare is sure she is Gingy, the gingerbread man.Written by Janey Litvin and Hanna Rashidi Images via Isabella Teran '19.
