Description: Need funding for an unpaid summer internship? BrownConnect LINK/SEW awards provide financial assistance to students pursuing unpaid or low-paying summer internships and are administered by BrownConnect. These awards allow students to explore career options and engage in experiential learning activities outside the classroom. This session will cover all of the logistics about applying to the LINK program including deadlines, internship eligibility, and tips for creating a successful application. There will also be time for questions.

What: Fefu and Her Friends by Maria Irene Fornes

Description: An off-Broadway, groundbreaking classic. Set in 1935, Fefu gathers her friends in her New England home to rehearse for a charity event. Their interactions evolve, intertwine and ultimately collide. The original production was directed by Fornes herself and is one of her nine Obie award winning plays.

What: Jeb Bush Orchestra & Orange Guava Passion

Description: In the eighteenth century slavery permeated every aspect of social and economic life in Rhode Island. The Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice’s Slavery and Legacy walking tour invites guests  to learn about the history and legacy of slavery as it pertains to Brown University and the state of Rhode Island. Major stops on this hour-long walking tour includes the Ruth J. Simmons Quadrangle, University Hall, the Slavery Memorial and the Center for the Study of Slavery & Justice.

Get ready for one funky Friday night with Jeb Orchestra, the (apolitical) dance funk band out of Allston, and Brown's own Orange Guava Passion.

The quarter-centennial will be held at Alumnae Hall on Friday, February 28th and Saturday, February 29th.
