Massive Changes on Dining Halls this Year!
After a summer away from Brown, there’s nothing quite like coming back to meal plan: late nights at Jo’s, Chicken Finger Fridays, and the poor-to-average dining at the Ratty are all integral parts of life here on campus. Upon my return, however, I realized my impressions of the campus eateries as a sophomore are drastically different than how I remembered them... THE RATTYFreshman year:“This food honestly isn’t that bad. I love Brown and everything about it so much!”“The whole school is here! Let’s pull a bunch of chairs together and overcrowd this table because new friends are great.” Sophomore year:“Did they even bother to cook this rice?” IVY ROOMFreshman year:“I feel cool just walking in here.”“Kombucha is so expensive!” Sophomore year:“Kombucha is so expensive!” VDUBFreshman year:“This is soooo much better than the Ratty! I can’t wait to tell all my friends at home how trendy it is to eat burnt burgers at this Ivy League institution!”“Chicken Fingers every Friday?!?!?!”"Why are the tables so sticky?" Sophomore year:“I don’t feel like telling freshmen about my concentration and where I’m from. I can get chicken fingers at Baja's.” ANDREWSFreshman year:“I love pizza!” Sophomore year:“Why do all the freshmen wear their lanyards around their necks?” JO’SFreshman year:“I’m drunk.” Sophomore year:“No mozzarella sticks after midnight this year?! Guess I better start drinking earlier.” BLUE ROOMFreshman year:“Muffins!” Sophomore year:“Muffins!” Image via
