The Blognonian Presents: The Winners of This Year's Halloweek Costume Contest!

The results are in! Blog is very proud to announce the winners of the 2018 Halloweek Costume Contest. This year, we were impressed by the general cultural relevance of the applicants, and the lack of costumes inspired by Brown University statues. Our Overall Winner:  May T. '19 as Medusa slaying Perseus. The vibe of this costume was perfectly matched by the almost psychopathic level of attention to detail. Our Overall Runner-Up: Mimi F. '19 and Kei K. '19 as Doctor Azumi Fujita and Doctor James K. Mantleray on an unsettling visit to the retro-futuristic alternative dystopia that is the universe of Netflix's Maniac. They insist you sit back and let the pills work their magic...Source material: And now, for our superlatives: Most Oscar-worthy: Tal S. '19.5 and Sophie H. '19.5 as Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan. Note the bloody wound on Kerrigan's knee and the expression on Tonya's face indicating she has nothing to lose.  Most Topical: Most Meme-y: Sophia S. '19 and Greg C. '19 as the Moth and Lamp meme. This win is also a memorial to Greg C., who undoubtably died that night by flying into Blueno.Source material: Best Pun: Winnie F. '19, Mimi F. '19, Emily Y. '19, Tori T. '19, Mindy N. '19, and Brittany H. '19 as Dr. Pepper. Really spicy costume, but none of them could fix my broken arm. Best costume by someone who does not attend Brown: Alanna D. '??? as a reaper and its mangled victim. This costume was so impressive, we didn't even care that it didn't come from a brown.edu email address. Best Childhood Throwback: Nina G. '19 and Tal S. '19.5 as Jesse and James from the infamous Team Rocket (shattering gender norms).Source material: Best Product Placement: Sophie S. '19 as the Energizer Bunny. This was a very hard decision for us, because The Blognonian is proudly sponsored by Duracell.Source material:  

Most timely, given that this costume will be banned by the FDA within the next 7 months:

Most Terrifying: 

Sophie U. '20 as "Ghosted." This win is terrifying on many levels, but mostly just because it's a conflict of interest (Sophie is on Blog).
