The Underground opens for the semester

The student-run Underground Coffee Company in the basement of Faunce opens at 8:30 today. After a late start last semester, the Underground is back to serve tea, drip coffee (from the one and only Dave's!), and espresso drinks like lattes and cappuccinos to the slightly caffeine-dependent student body. Go get $1 espresso as a one day deal for their early opening! 1936200_1524205474552803_7948976277535275170_n One of Brown’s biggest food-related shortcomings was the lack of an affordable coffee spot on campus. The Underground was started by students in late 2015 as an alternative to the Blue Room and Thayer-area coffee spots. The group began selling just coffee and tea, but expanded to espresso drinks last semester. This semester they hope to start serving iced drinks. A small latte is slightly cheaper than the Blue Room, and if you bring your own mug you get 25¢. As one Underground employee put it, “We’re open for good this semester so we can create a good vibe and get to know our regulars!”I for one will be first in line.Images via
