Songs we're afraid to be caught listening to

Do you ever find yourself at the gym, getting in such a great workout you're basically one with the elliptical, jamming out to tunes by—Akon?! Jessica Simpson?! A tiny voice inside of you says, "Hey, you know Spotify does have a mode for private sessions, right? You might want to switch to it. What if one of your three followers catches you listening to the Camp Rock soundtrack? Or worse, what if someone you really don't want privy to this jam session—like, I don't know, your ex-boyfriend or that girl who never let you sit at her lunch table in sixth grade—randomly feels inspired to start following you now, at the exact moment you've started playing a Glee song?"Maybe you do switch to a private session. Or maybe you're too lazy to change the settings on your phone, but the voice continues to nag you until you're compelled to make the last song in your queue something socially acceptable, so that for the next however-many hours you're not listening to Spotify, the music that pops up on your followers screens isn't embarrassing. Either way, Blognonian is here to tell you: be proud of what you rock out to in shame. We all have our guilty pleasures, and more often than not there's a fair bit of overlap in the music we think it's so weird to enjoy. For your amusement, we've compiled a list of our favorite guilty pleasures. They range from lesser-known Vanessa Carlton songs (as if "A Thousand Miles" weren't humiliating enough) to Sean Kingston's nostalgia-inducing tunes to Celine Dion's ballads. Let this playlist be a message to all: it's time to embrace that part in all of us that just wants to belt out Mariah Carey.[embed]https://open.spotify.com/user/blognonian/playlist/6Vhbd27LczHqo4G0mk7UNl[/embed]
