How to Get Back to Reality Post SW
Welcome back to reality, everyone! Sadly, Spring Weekend has come to a close, and it’s now officially grind time. This transition is undoubtedly the most difficult of the year, as the tantalizing spring weather and recent memories of happiness may be too tempting to resist. While you’re trying to muster up the resolve to leave the Main Green and lock yourself in the Rock for 6 brutal hours of academic blood, sweat, and tears, try out a few of these tips:First, get rid of your cutesy little flash tats and your pink body glitter. I know, I know. You looked hot, and very Coachella, but those little accessories may be a smidge less charming when you’re desperately trying to channel your inner professional and scheme a job for this summer on Skype interviews.Next, delete all the embarrassing texts you sent. There’s no use dwelling on the fact that your crush from section (or, if you’re me, Daniel Caesar) left you on read when you hit him with, “wyaaaaaa” on Saturday night. It’s probably best not to have any romantic distractions during finals, anyway.Toss out your trusty old Adidas Superstars/Air Force 1s/basic variation of the generic white sneaker that you foolishly wore out this weekend. They have served you well, but they’re most likely past the point of return. Rest in peace, trusty steeds.Perfect an excuse to tell your parents for why you fell off the face of the Earth for a week straight. Maybe you’ve been studying so hard that you haven’t been able to pick up the phone. You’re just a super dedicated student that way. Close all of your “SW Party 2019!!!” playlists. Unfortunately, it’s now time to go back to listening to soothing ASMR and rain sounds in order to force your mind to focus on the task at hand: remembering what classes you’re supposed to have been taking this semester, and somehow learning all of their material over the next couple of days (though, on second thought, Daniel Caesar and Mitski are pretty good artists for some sort of a crying-during-finals playlist).Good luck getting back to reality, everyone! Only T-361 days 'til next Spring Weekend!
