If you have no idea what any of that means, keep reading. What is Datamatch?Datamatch is a free matchmaking service created by college students for college students with the aim of spreading true love. The Harvard Computer Society began the program in 1994 and originally had only Harvard students in mind — but, since then, Datamatch has spread to over twelve schools,* with plans to expand to more! At Harvard, Datamatch is an iconic Valentine's Day tradition, with over 80% of the student body signing up annually. Last year, the Harvard Computer Society asked Blog to help bring the survey to Brown for the first time. Over 3,000 students participated! This year, they anticipate even more. The whole matchmaking process is primarily meant to be humorous and casual, but there's always a chance of finding a lasting relationship. How can I participate? Who can register? It's simple! If you have a Brown or RISD email, you can register here. Fill out a quick bio, then answer the survey questions! Are there options for platonic dates?Yes! You can look for either true love or a new bestie. What else should I know? This year, Datamatch is working with local vendors in Providence to offer you discounted coffee, food, and drinks for dates! More details will be announced soon.*Brown, Boston College, Carleton, The Claremont Colleges (Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, Pomona, and Scripps), Columbia, Cornell, MIT, U Chicago, WashU, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wellesley, and YaleImage courtesy of Izzy Teran '19.
