The show begins after the peak of their fame — their success as writers and composers established but their once powerful friendship falling apart around them. The show then moves backwards in time, following their friendship through the relationships, milestones, and decisions that shape the course of their lives. By the end of the play, we see them in college anxious to begin their adult lives and bonding over their dreams for the future. How do we date in a culture where dating is practically nonexistent? How do we date with an end in mind while also encountering the person we're dating as they are, with no ulterior motives? How does gender play into dating? How about #metoo? How do we break up well? How does technology both help and complicate things? How do we go beyond "consent" as a framework to talk about relationships? What does justice have to do with dating?Our very special guest this week is Dr. Kerry Cronin. Dr. Cronin is a professor of philosophy at Boston College, and was recently featured in the film "The Dating Project." She has become known as the "dating doctor" after giving students in her class an unconventional assignment: asking someone out on a date! Elizabeth grew up in a family hanging on by their fingernails to their place in the middle class. Elizabeth was a law professor for more than 30 years, including nearly 20 years at Harvard Law School. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are required and available on October 31. Brown or government-issued photo ID is required.
