Why Brown Concert Agency is probably the Illuminati

Brown Concert Agency. The Illuminati. At first, these two organizations might seem extremely different and totally unrelated. However, Blog has noticed some suspicious similarities, outlined below, that have led us to believe that the two might really be one and the same. Read on for our reasoning...1. No one knows who’s actually a part of either organization.Much of world’s obsession with the Illuminati stems from the fact that its membership is insanely mysterious. Many famous celebrities are rumored to be members, including Kanye West, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga, but no one knows for sure. Similarly, if you asked Brown students to name members of the Brown Concert Agency, they would struggle to give a name that they’re actually certain of. “I think maybe my friend Allie is in it?” they might say. But they’d soon resign themselves to shaking their heads and admitting, “I honestly have no idea.” I, for one, can name exactly zero members of the Illuminati, and exactly zero members of BCA.2. Both organizations are surrounded by rumors.People love talking about the Illuminati, but often have little factual evidence to back up their claims. Similarly, rumors also fly around BCA — we all heard that Khalid and Brockhampton might be performing at Spring Weekend, but sadly, like the idea that the Illuminati killed Paul Walker, these were just rumors.*3. Neither likes people over thirty.According to Chris Hodapp, the co-author of Conspiracy Theories and Secret Societies for Dummies, Illuminati members originally didn’t trust anyone over the age of 30, as these elders were supposedly "too set in their ways."Apparently BCA doesn't trust them either. We looked at their Spring Weekend line-up, and of the twelve artists they selected to perform this year (counting each member of Whitney separately and excluding the many, MANY members of What Cheer? Brigade), only one, Anderson Paak, is over thirty. They’re not fooling anyone — one out of twelve is the perfect number for avoiding over-thirty-year-olds as much as possible without being ridiculously obvious about it.4. Both organizations are more powerful than they seem. The Illuminati isn't an officially-recognized organization, so it’s easy to write them off as a group of little relevance. However, despite their undercover existence, some people claim that they've played a huge role in the world’s history, and are responsible for orchestrating the French Revolution, the Battle of Waterloo, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy.Meanwhile, some people wouldn’t consider BCA to be a super high-profile, high-power extracurricular. Yet BCA members are the people who choose Spring Weekend performers — in other words, they determine key aspects of the most significant two days of a Brown student's year. So, similar to the Illuminati's case, BCA's low-key existence throughout the school year isn’t indicative of their outsized influence.5. Both challenge the status quo.The Illuminati was originally founded with the goals of putting an end to the "machinations of the purveyors of injustice," and opposing abuses of state power and religious and elitist influence over public life. BCA also stands for progressive, cutting-edge principles: according to their website, the 2018 line-up aims to "#DISRUPT music festivals’ complacency,” and the group remains committed to “disrupting hierarchies within the industry.”6. Not that many people believe in them.Apparently, about 28% of Americans believe in the Illuminati, or that "a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government, or New World Order." Nowadays, the majority of Americans either deny the Illuminati's existence altogether or reject their alleged involvement in historical events like JFK's assassination. Similarly, about a quarter of the student body believes in BCA — many have lost hope that the server will load properly when tickets go live.7.
