Shailene Woodley for Bernie Sanders

When Shailene Woodley reached out to Brown Students for Bernie Sanders, they had two days to put together an event. Most of Brown refused to believe it was real–but teen icon and celebrity movie star Shailene Woodley really did show up in front of a crowd of about 100 people Saturday night to campaign for Sanders.Following her 20 minute speech, she stayed around for another 40 minutes, speaking to students, taking photos with them, and most of all encouraging them to campaign and canvas before the upcoming Rhode Island primary on Tuesday. Looking nothing like the polished movie star we are used to seeing, Woodley's dressed down appearance and down to earth attittude allowed students to get past their initial shell-shock and listen to her as an American citizen rather than a celebrity words she was saying.If you missed the event or still refuse to believe she actually came, take a look at the photos below.
